Pray with Godly fear

Hebrews 5:7

The next condition of praying in a way that brings answers is simple but very complex, and something most of us have been doing our whole lives long.

pray in the name of Jesus.

Most of us know that at the end of a prayer we say, in Jesus’ name we pray amen. 

We first hear it from the old folks at church, and by the time we come of age it’s normal to say at the end of a prayer.

In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and

you will receive” (John 16:23–24)

Who is Christ talking to? 

I say who is Jesus talking to when he says ask and you shall receive?

The answer is simple but may shock you.

Jesus is talking to the new you, the you who has completely given your life to him. Completely.

Create in me a clean heart, renew the right spirit within me (psalm 51:10)

Jesus is talking to the new you with the clean heart that he has created in you.

Jesus is talking to the new you that is so filled with the Holy Spirit that even the strongest of strongholds that once enslaved you are gone, vanished, for you are a child of God.

That’s who Jesus is talking to when he says “ask and you will receive.”

He is not talking to the old you, the enslaved one, the one who did all those terrible things to so many people.

He is not the old you who would ask for things for themselves, the one who wants their own will done.

He is talking to the new you, the you who wants his kingdom to come, and his will to be done.

So who are you?

Are you the old you, or the new you.

Decide, and decide quickly.

The Kingdom of Heaven is upon you.
